Meet Captain Josh
As a Master Captain, a skilled angler and a father, Josh is committed to delivering an exceptional fishing experience while prioritizing the comfort and satisfaction of everyone on board. He has a deep passion for fishing and a drive to be the best which he is passing down to his son.
With years of experience Josh learned the ropes by being a deckhand on different boats. Learning "the bite" of the wide variety of fish in the Gulf. Each fish is different depending on water temp, season, wind, barometric pressure and the moon affecting tide and ocean currents to name a few. Josh soon became a captain and achieved his Master Captains license.
Our Captain is one of the BEST! and specializes in Bill fishing with 47 caught in 2025 alone. He has spent years in the charter fishing industry and has spent hours marking and dropping camera to find those hidden spots to catch that DREAM fish. He was recently invited down to fish in the Bahamas with one of the top editors of Marlin Magazine and boy did they catch some fish!
Josh is admired and respected as one of the best in the area. He has worked hard to find the best locations and is the reason we do NOT allow any tracking devices on our charters. We want you to have the best chance at hooking your DREAM fish!

DOLPHINS are beautiful animals BUT if they find you GOOD LUCK landing a fish! Most bigger traditional fishing boats can NOT loose them. Dolphins eat between 30-50lbs of fish a day and it is fine if you just want to feed them but if you want to land some fish we can loose them! Our new twin 300hp motors lets us cruz at 25-50mph to the next spot.
Gulf Coast Gypsy is a FEDERALLY PERMITTED BOAT. What does that mean? You can fish past 9 miles from shore where the bigger fish like the colder water where others cant!
The Right Equipment
Having the right equipment is everything. We want everyone to have the chance of bringing in that big fish and that is why we spent thousands on poles that we would buy for ourselves. The Shimano two speed reals we offer make it easy for even a child to reel in the big one. Tackle a Sword fish with an electric real or do it manually, you have a choice. Our vessel is equipped to meet your needs.
